things i've learned this week [3]

  • practicing my spanish really does help me to speak better
  • i get envious of strange things like other people's penmanship
  • maybe campus is the best setting for an unplanned phone chat with my mamma
  • i'm obsessed with safeway's coconut pineapple ice cream. i'd like a seperate freezer just for that, thank you.
  • i need to be more confident. period.
  • there are seriously some people who aren't against sexual violence? seriously? (talked about this in my comtemporary fem theory class)
  • being a mother is not what it used to be. there are so many outside influences to deal with (talked about this in fem ethics)
  • spending the money to see one of your favorite artists is completely worth it
  • i have a really hard time begin halfway friends with people
  • ben is a good worker (already knew this) and he likes his new job (!!!)

Super envious of you going to see Ani DiFranco!!!!!!

I remember reading about people who want to make sex with children okay. I was horrified! You are so correct on the mothering now topic!! (the issues now are insane)

I love these posts. You are a great thinker and I love when people are self aware like this. xo

OK - i am also envious of people's penmanship. i would kill to have a steady and even hand - but i am a ham-fisted block letter mangler :(

I love these lists you make. Not the most eloquent sentence, but the only way I can explain why I love them: It's really interesting to watch your world enlarge, and it helps mine to enlarge also, as it gets me thinking about stuff. Haha, stuff. I'm poetic today.

why am I always forgetting to comment here? I read the previous posts and just left them un-commented, I;m sorry dear Emily :(

I think I should start practising my French too... I need to speak better, badly. lol.

:O that coconut pineapple ice cream sounds yummy although I'm not a big fan of pineapple, but anything ice cream are lovely, ha! :D

And why would you have problems with self confidence? You're great and that's the only thing you need to remember from me, lol, since I talk too much. Haha...

last but not least, so happy to know that Ben likes his new job :D because some people usually needs time to adjust to the new workplace ;D hope all will go well :)

Ohhhh, thanks for remembering me and our wonderful chat on your amazing blog. Tu hablas Espanol? Yo tambien, un poquito. [How do you spell that?] Can we be more than halfway friends and talk between more classes?
Ben, we want an update on the new job. OXOX

Being a mother isn't what it used to be--I was watching Mad Men yesterday and the mom shoves her kid in the closet to punish her for smoking the mother's cigarettes. You could never get away with that today! LOL

cool picture!

who are these crazies not against sexual violence? they need a talking to.

true about being a mom - so true. now there's a pressure to have a video game system, let your kids drink soda, give allowances (i'm speaking from experience... it is sooo frustrating).

annnnd thanks for the post. love it.

I think it is a very bad thing that I read this post. That pineapple coconute ice cream sounds delish and I am not even a huge ice cream fan.
