ate that frozen wedding cake, over a year late

you know that one tradition where you freeze part of your wedding cake and then you eat it on your first anniversary? well it's a little awkward when you leave it in utah and move across the country---
and then the only times we've been back to utah, has been the holidays where we stuff ourselves with sweets and food the entire time. so we finally got around to eating our wedding cake from over two years ago. gross? no. actually it totally rocked.

christina at bakers of normandie in salt lake city is a genius.

We did the same thing, get married in California. Move to Iowa. And then eat cake when ever it was convenient.

But ours did not hold up that well...

So fun!

I'd never heard of this until I saw it on someone elses blog but I love it - what a great idea :)

That looks like amazing cake too!

That is absurd! But it sure does look tasty. Also, in unrelated news, I really like the blue and white tiles in the kitchen in that first picture.

Bakers de Normandie may be brilliant, but they're also crooks who never paid for $18,000 worth of supplies. Basically, my dad paid for their new restaurant.

that's awesome.

we didn't participate in the tradition.
i'm not sure why though.
hmm... maybe it's still stuffed in the back of my mom's freezer nearly six years later { i doubt it.}

Completely cute pictures. The lady that made our cake for us never gave us our cake to freeze; she said she'd give it to us after we got back from our honeymoon, but then she never did :(

i love ben's bow tie. i remade our wedding cake for our first anniversary and i thought it would be a nice tradition to always make that cake on our anniversary, but the last couple years we've been traveling or busy and it just hasn't happened.

totally had the same experience...but we didn't move across the country, so there really wasn't any excuse.
