capital bikeshare

ben and i signed up for capital bikeshare just over a week ago. the bike system is much like that in montréal where you pay a certain amount for the day, month or year and you just pick up and drop off bikes at your leisure.

our bike keys came on saturday so we didn't waste any time testing out "our" new bikes. there is a bike station right next to our house and quite a few in our area on the capitol hill, as well as some more popping up all over the district which will make it convenient for us to use our bikes more.

i'm proud of dc for finally putting this program together. how fun for us--- people who want to ride bikes more that don't really have any where to store a bike...
and how fun for tourists to see dc by bike for a great deal!!

and now i just have to wait for my new helmet which is in the mail, on its way...

Wait a minute...is Ben wearing the shirt that came with the key? It matches the bikes so perfectly. GOOOOOO BIKES!

that is AWESOME!! WE bought bikes this year and pretty much ride bikes everywhere now. I LOVE it. Last time we were in DC, everyone rented bikes and rode around the mall the day after we left!! No fair!! THis is definitely a "to do" on the next visit!
