and for lunch, the dominican republic

on saturday we were in the columbia heights neighborhood of dc.
that's where target is.

why we were at target on a saturday in december is beyond me... BUT

we were finally in the neighborhood at a time of day that los hermanos dominican restaurant was open! we've been wanting to try it for a while.

and sure enough the food was totally "legit" (as ben kept saying) and totally delicious. just like being in the d.r.
ben was speaking to the restaurant owners in "dominican" and you could tell they were loving it (ben included).

there was even a group of men in the corner of the restaurant playing domino.
now that is dominican.

i bet we'll find ourselves back there at some point...

i heart target. going there today...

also it's super neat when people speak other languages to each other. especially when it's baby-to-baby. :)

we LOVE legit places. like make your way through the grocery store to the back with plastic tables and chairs and no menus. we LOVE. :)

i am almost finished with my term paper on the complications of what it means to be "dominican." not that that is interesting to anyone else, but its on my mind. glad the food was good. i would love to go to the D.R. some day.

Yes, to answer your question. I have upgraded my camera, it was just time to say goodbye to the 90.
